ImageJ is an advanced image processing app with many unique features, such as Fourier transforms and image analysis, including graphing the colors in an image. One of its components, Enfuse, can be used in all sorts of image stacking, including exposure blending as an alternative to HDR, as well as focus stacking. Hugin, which is a panorama image stitching system and more. You already got a lot of suggestions, several of them that I use, but I'll add some more:

Today I found and installed exiftool so I'm wondering about other open source photography software, such as GIMP and Darktable.ĭespite mainly using Photoshop CC on my Mac, I do use lots of free and open source software. Looks like I will be entirely happy with an M1 Mac Mini! I ran XnView, but recently discovered that by selecting an entire folder of images with Finder, Preview > Go > Next shows them in order. I have DxO Photolab 4 so Darktable is not a priority.

Yay, I was able to install GIMP 2.10 without Xcode, but I'm likely to need Xcode if I want to recompile any programs, such as Darktable for X-S10 support. XnView MP is provided as FREEWARE (NO Adware, NO Spyware) for private or educational use (including non-profit organizations). If you intend to use XnView in a company, you must purchase a license.

If yu keep ScriptDebugger past the trial end date, it degrades to a still fairly useful free tool. Its not free, but an excellent tool for writing and debugging AppleScript is "ScriptDebugger". There is a free GUI for exiftool called jEXIFToolGUI. GNU C compiler is on my system, but perhaps not all libraries are available. Does anybody have advice on best approaches?
